Remember how I told you I was going to inherit a beautiful foyer table for the breakfast room? Well, it arrived and now my head is whirling. I currently have the Thomas Moser dining chairs around the table (because they are the chairs we had in the Brooklyn Heights Apartment) but I think that the brown leather club chairs might end up being just the comfort level I am after in this space. I have yet to decide that I am going to completely dismantle The Country House. Until I do, the Moser Chairs will remain in place even though they don’t suit the table perfectly.
And you see why I need to install these swing arm brass sconces now, right?
Between this post where I have painted my dining room wood trim black, my post about a nearly black barn, and my next post about black kitchen cabinetry – my fascination with decorating dark started with the kitchen at The Country House, but I clearly remain firmly entrenched in my ‘paint it black’ phase. Hang tight, ok? This is just the first layer! There is still a lot of color coming in textiles, art work and rugs. In the barn’s case, it will be plants, trees and flowers. And don’t forget, the new kitchen is green! Rest assured I have not gone completely goth. *wink*
