I’m not kidding you, the screened in porch is by far my favorite “room” in our house during the Summer months. The breeze flows through at all hours of the day. I like to enjoy my morning coffee in the chilly morning air. I will sit with my laptop while I am blogging. I often return for cocktails in the evening as the sun is setting, and it’s truly the best place to serve appetizers before dinner. I only wish it was big enough for a dining table – I wouldn’t ever leave! I gathered most of these guys from the perennial garden over this past weekend. (The arrangement is supplemented with locally grown Snapdragons from the market. I have a few snapdragons that we added to the garden for color, but figured I had best leave them there to do their job!) I am far from nature friendly as flower cutting activities go. After gathering flowers I arrived inside to a mosquito bite on my forehead and my left eyelid – perhaps we should just screen in the entire yard? *wink*All Summer long it has seemed really green out in the garden. Do we have less blossoms because the super cold Winter? I feel like we need all the flowers we can get and every time I look out there – it is just a sea of green. The good news is that I see the purple and white cone flowers just starting to come in, so that will make a nice difference. And before you know it, we’ll be onto all the white blooms of August, and of course the bold gold Rudbeckia. I look forward to that!
