Last week I had the phone interview for the article that goes along with the BHG photo shoot. You remember, it was the one we had at The Country House just before we moved into the Brooklyn Heights Apartment a few weeks ago. I have seen the reel of photos that will make up the story in September. Remember when I said it would be fun to see how differently they shot The Country House? Mission accomplished. When the idea of this story came around, I was told it was for the September ‘Style-Maker’ issue. I was completely flattered they were interested in my style and made the assumption they would shoot our home with the things I already owned in a beautiful way. In the end they brought in more props, throws, pillows, platters, pitchers and plants than I could count – I wasn’t prepared for that sort of transformation. All of the photos in this post are the lovely leftovers that didn’t get used during the photo shoot. They were kind enough to leave the fresh cut flowers behind for me when they wrapped up the last day. These are the flower arrangements that I made and enjoyed the weekend of Mother’s Day. Seeing different varieties of flowers in our house (besides readily available, grocery store tulips and roses) was really a nice treat. It makes me wish I was willing to schlep flowers up from the NYC Flower Market to The Country House more frequently!
