As you are well aware, I have been spending a majority of my time in the country playing general contractor for our kitchen installation. With exception of our living with what you love event on Thursday of last week, I have been out of New York City since early November.I can not believe that I didn’t get a blog post written yesterday! Here Jonathan and I throw a big event and my internet went down! It didn’t come back to life until late yesterday afternoon. There is quite a weak signal out here – we’re far from everything. I spend a lot of time rebooting my computer and waiting on web sites to load. Everything takes far longer to accomplish here than in the City, both on the internet and in real life.By the time my connection was up and running again, I was embroiled in kitchen renovation drama. Our integrated refrigerator arrived and was sticking out not one, but nearly seven inches out of the cabinet. Mind you, this cabinet was custom built to fit perfectly around that very fridge. Ugh! Needless to say, by 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon (after countless meetings and phone calls) there was a new cabinet being built and a truly integrated refrigerator on order. This is only one of a string of events that has made this kitchen installation stressful. Did I mention last week they hung the cabinets three inches to the right off center? You bet they took them down to rehang them the right way. Needless to say, the kitchen is a work in progress. We have guests arriving tomorrow for Thanksgiving weekend. They’re booked to stay in a bed and breakfast since our place is still a construction zone. We have dinner reservations scheduled for each night the rest of this week. I will be posting some of the images from our Living With What You Love event, but other than that, it will be a quiet week of nesting and lifestyle posts here on ABCD Design. Please keep your eyes on Jonathan’s tumblr page. He posted a few Design TV party images yesterday, and I know he plans to post more as the week goes on. We also set up a facebook page for #DesignTV. We plan to upload party images there too. Pop by there and like us, if you’re so inclined. Next week on #DesignTV we’re talking holiday recipes. The following week, holiday decor. It’s not always a chat about TV – we talk about living a well designed life too! Get your links ready to share, and we’ll see you on Monday from 11:30-1:3o EST.Images in this post: I was introduced to Plain English cabinetry when reading Anne’s blog, The City Sage last Summer. You must check out Plain English’s recent work, it’s truly amazing. Speaking of amazing, Anne and Crystal‘s second issue of Rue Magazine went live early this week. Don’t miss the Rue Magazine Holiday edition. It’s a delight!
