I hesitate in posting this photo so early on – never in a bladzillion years would I pick a paint color so garish! This is the remnants of a little girl bedroom which will soon be painted a lovely shade of French butter colored yellow. I can not wait to see it transform!I mentioned earlier this week that the Shaker Peg Board had been installed. I thought that I’d give you a quick pre-painting peek. We opted for short and stout Shaker knobs rather than true Shaker pegs. I think that these will stand up over time better than the long pegs would. They are the perfect remedy in our closet-less guest bedroom. As you’ll notice, I went the non-traditional route when hanging the Shaker peg board in the master bedroom. I think by hanging it tight to the pine ceiling that it’s the clean break of bright white we needed. While they may be hanging higher than normal, it will give me a nice stopping point for my charcoal paint – we might still decide to keep the wood ceiling natural.I absolutely love the utilitarian aspect of having Shaker peg board in the house. I’ll be able to hang my robe before going to sleep at night -or- use them to hang artwork. (Yay! No excess holes in the plaster!) I am certain that these cutie-pies will be doing double and triple duty for the house in no time flat.
