What a whirl-wind weekend! We drove from Northern Michigan to Detroit on Friday, flew to Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday morning, attended a wedding at the Magnolia Plantation on Saturday night, returned to Detroit on Sunday morning only to drive back to Northern Michigan on Sunday afternoon. Covering over 2000 miles in 36 hours is exhaust-icating, no?
I guess I got over being cranky with House Beautiful over the (yawn!) Kitchen of the Year that they presented. When I saw the lovely September cover, I became completely smitten! At that moment, I knew exactly what I was going to blog about today. IT. IS. GORGEOUS! Too bad that the cover is the only image I can find online. WAH! I don’t have a scanner handy to me this morning. Boo-to-that! So you’ll just have to go out and buy the issue to see what I am talking about. It is an absolutely fabulous mixture of professional kitchen, casual dining and book library with dark blue cabinets (I just adore the look!) and it’s dotted with a bunch of windows, many of which double as storage for pretty glass objects that capture the light. PERFECTION! Any-hoo… I quickly got over not being able to find more of the September kitchen images. I got distracted by lovely bedrooms that deserve notice. Check out this canopy prettiness:
And then, of course … there are amazing examples of handsome dark colored bedrooms at House Beautiful – which (as you know) I am always attracted to. They’re really good too, no?
