What a weekend! Standing on Greene Street (center of Soho – basically an open air shopping mall – insert a food court 100 ft away and we’d be set) for an entire day is an eye opening experience. I will never look at fashion the same way again. The fact is that tourists and New Yorkers alike get “dressed to the nines” to come and shop on a beautiful Spring day. My oh my – such terrible interpretations of fashion! Is it that there is so much pressure for people to be “in” that they do not realize every trend is not made for every person?!? For 16 hours on Saturday I was assigned to watch the truck. I sat on the stoop and watched ironic facial hair, neon 80’s and serious androgynous fashion (gone awry) stroll by. Women in skirts so short it looked as though they forgot their pants. High heels so high, you wonder how long they plan to walk on the cobblestone streets of Soho. I had to stop one woman from letting her dog wee on my vintage poster only to have another allow her dog to do it on my wardrobe box. So super miserable! On the fun side of things – I saw Colin Cowie walking past – that was a FUN star sighting – I should have asked him for a job! winkwink.
All in all the move took 32 man hours – I still have to clean the place up and get it ready for the walk through and closing on Thursday. Utilities to shut down, internet connections to deal with…
I am exhaust-icated!
I have two wedding stationery press checks (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Two baby announcements going to print. (So super cute!)
I have a few program inserts to design for May Brides. (Ivy and Ben, Hailey and Evan – possibly Maggie and Trevor’s once I get the wording from them!)
On Thursday, I will be flying to West Palm where I will be meeting with soon-to-be South Florida brides. I still have a few appointments left – so please feel free to email me for a time slot.
Bare with me – life is busy, BUSY, B U S Y!
