Want to get a very clear vision for your wedding day? Go buy a three ring binder, plastic sleeves and some clear plastic folder pockets. This my *post wedding* wedding binder! It really helped me focus on the “feel” of our celebration. Pulling all the wedding elements together in one spot helped create a cohesive mood throughout each individual part of the wedding.
As you find dresses you like – place the images in your binder. Once you decide upon your dress, keep your fabric samples, correspondence, business cards and all the receipts within the “dress” section.
Repeat this exercise with each element of your wedding. Cake, Flowers, Decorations, Entertainment, Party Favors, Wedding Vows/Special readings, table seating, stationery etc.
The clear sleeves help to keep everything visible. This way, no good idea gets forgotten!
When it comes time to plan each part of your big day – you’ve got lots of inspiration to draw from. As you tare magazine pages out and print pages from websites you’ll become very clear on what is important to you.
You’ll start to understand how you envision your celebration. You will find themes within the images you are drawn to – Go with your common themes – it’s you! Don’t second guess or worry what the brides are doing.
This is what I got!
Had I not torn this ceremony treatment from a magazine and saved it – I could have easily missed out on this element in our ceremony.
Instead, I showed it to my designer and ended up with this!
Needless to say, your wedding inspiration binder is a good spot to keep everything organized and help you to remain free of what I call that foggy brained – too much to do – not enough time to do it “Bridal Head!”
